Today was our first visit to the pediatrician, Dr Samson. Diya weighed in at 6 pounds 2 ounces, reversing the trend of her weight loss!
We now have to keep the 3 hour feeding, by breast or bottle to ensure that she regains her lost weight.

Coming Home
Today we came home! It took 3 hours just to be done with Diya's feeding, Gai's breakfast, checking out procedures, bundling Diya into the car-seat. I drove cautiously: it's a good thing the hospital is close to home. The big relief is that now I dont have to ferry the grandparents back and forth and everyone acn help out!
It was also Superbowl Sunday. I managed to see the exciting last quarter with the Giants beating the till-then-undefeated Patriots!

Where's the milk?
It's been 2 days since Diya was born. We're still in the hospital. Gayathri is recovering well. But we're still trying to get Diya to latch and breast-feed. Yesterday it seems that we had it down, but today she seems to have forgotten the technique. Perhaps its because the milk is not in yet. We're still making collostrum, which is harder to eat!
In fact, the pediatrician recimmended substituting the feeding with some formula since her weight had dropped below the 10% threshold. She gulped that down greedily. Poor thing, it's almost like she's starving!

I'm Here!
I'm here
-=-
The Golden Pig is in winter,
Thirty mornings into the New Year.
It's ten fifty one on the ticker;
I'm twenty inches at my first tear.
-=-
Mommy's ardor bounces,
At Daddy's tumultuous elation.
They raise my 112 ounces,
Eyes glistening with blissful illumination.
